Since i had nothing to say before, I now have a week of stuff...
So to start off, congrats to Miss Mandi Lutz for her baptism! It was SOOO beautiful! I had the honor of speaking on baptism, and my mom was our piano player! Oh they also had me be the chorister...which by the way I suck...why don't I know how to do it!? I think I just jinxed myself now to being called to the ward chorister...any how....

Then on Sunday Jake was FINALLY able to go to church with us after a few weeks of working...it was nice.
All week I have worked and that isn't to exciting, but on my day off Thursday Mom (grandma) took the kids to Peter Piper pizza! McKenzie didn't even want to use tokens she had so much fun climibg on everything! Avery decided to grow some facial hair while we were there, and Own and Ethan made out like bandits with tickets! (Issacc stayed home he was sick)

Then we decided to go to tres and Roseannes house and play with baby kaden, McKenzie LOVES him. She LOVES babies. She will be a GREAT big sister...but for those of you wondering WHEN we are having another, it will be a little longer :) We aren't ready to expand the heard quite yet...but We will tell you when it's coming!

Then to round off the week today SATURDAY 7/26.
I was scheuled to work today...rare when Jake works also, because I work opposite him so we always have a parent at home with McKenzie, well....my work is so SHORT handed I couldnt back out, so to the rescue comes Mandi again, she was going to babysit mckenzie for me....so I woke up extra early to get us both ready, and all last night she was up crying..(rare for my love of sleep child) I slept on her floor all night....anyways went into her room this morning to get her ready and she was red, and hoarse, and sniffly nose, and when i icked her up..she puked on me. My poor baby is SICK! SO I called Jake at work to see if he could take a sick day and be with McKenze because I HAD to work, and there was no way I would leave this sick puking child with Mandi that would be mean....so to the resuce daddy came home to be with mckenzie and Jake told me how nice it was to cuddle with her....... :)
Then we had another OPEN house! Please pray we sell our place SOON!

Now if you don't want to cry or are faint of heart don't read on....
This is WHY Jake was very willing to come home and loved that Mckenzie was a cuddle bug.....(besides he loves her very much)
Jake is a firefighter as most of you know, and service men and women see things in their line of work that us other people don't ever see, and never want to see.
On Friday morning Jake held over (worked 4 hours longer than his usual shift to cover men in training)
that morning him and his crew were dispatched to Jakes first pediatric code (death)
This being something Jake has feared since getting his job was something that has changed him indeffinitly.
He called me that afternoon while I was at work to express and releave his emotions, which threw me into a whirlwind of emotions and heartache...
A 4 week old baby had died of SIDS Friday morning while sleeping in bed with mom and dad, as firecrews and police crews arrived, a lifeless pail little body lay still. Jake was the EMT to do the compressions (cpr) and put a air tube into the babies mouth. He said as he walked in to the house he had a emotion come over him that hurt, he had to stay composed though to do his job and he did.
The baby was taken to a near by hospital to be prononced dead, yet Jake and his crew continued in efforts to bring life back into the childs body in the ambulance ride there.
Jake kept hoping and wishing this little boy would open his eyes and cry, but it didn't happen, the little spirit had left.
Jake said as they arrived at the hospital many of the nurses and firefighters were very distraught and upset, including himself, as he walked out of the room he burst into tears, sobbing and clearly upset. His firefighter partner took jake for a walk and thay talked about it.
As jake told me this story I was hurt and I was saddned by this precious loss. The poor family.
Jake later told me that he couldn't help but want to rush home and hold McKenzie. Which he later did, and then took to Ice Cream and let her make the biggest Mess EVER.
I tell you this story to remind you every day how short this life is, and to appreciate those around you. Remember to tell those you love, you love them.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't put your babies in bed with you, take every precaution to overcome SIDS.http://kidshealth.org/parent/general/sleep/sids.html

Kiss your kids and family goodnight and thank God that we have wonderful people in our lives :)

Ok maybe I should have listened to your warning about that post. I can't imagine how hard that must have been for Jake, give him a great big hug and thank him for me. Without people in his line of work there would be a lot more families greaving everyday.
OMGosh, that is so sad. Sniff. That is every new parent's worst fear. I feel so sorry for that family. :(
thanks for making me cry...it makes me feel so blessed to have what i have in my life.
xox to jake-we re all grateful for the work he does!
thank you all! :)
awe crap I saw the warning too, I even was told the story first by Tres but I still had to read it for myself. I can't imagine that. That's why Kaden will never sleep with me in my bed.
I can totally relate to that Holly...i work on the infant and toddler floor at the hospital and a couple weeks ago we had like 5 traumas on the unit...those poor little kids...but at least they were there still with family...
