I think that is what goes through my little McKenzie's head EVERY night....this whole toddler thing is KILLING me! What happened to my perfect little infant angel!?!?!?!?!?!?! Every night has become a SERIOUS challenge getting her to bed, she used to need her room Pitch black, door shut, blanket covering the cracks in the door, to sleep and for it to be freezing, NOW...door wide open 5 night lights, tv on (muted) and for either Jake or I to sit in her room until she goes to sleep....KILLER! and with Jake gone at work most nights I get the job of evil bed time... We decided NOT to sit in the room anymore, and let her cry it out...haha, that's when she decided she could escape her crib as shown in the post below...BUT we think, well we know she is scared of the dark now (hence 5 night lights), but she won't crawl out of her crib at bed time, only at nap time because it's dark, so that's a plus.....BUT she can go the distance, I'm sitting here now blogging listening to her cry and sleep, then cry and sleep, then scream, and sleep every 2-3 minutes....Obviously I can't sleep until I hear her silence knowing she is asleep...but OH how I can't wait until these days are over...any suggestions comments? anyone's children done this!? It's making me INSANE! (of course I get blog for an hour or so while she fights sleeping every night...) ahh an upside to everything right?

Oh great...I too have had a perfect sleeper baby thus far and now you have me worried that these days might one day come to a screeching halt...aah!
Since mine is younger than yours, I don't have any specific advice, but it's probably just a little phase that she will outgrow soon.
Good luck and be sure to post if you find something that works!
yup, I agree she will out grow it. but it's so hard. I have done everything the hard way to find out what works. It's all about the nanny 911 shows. Nanny says consistency and ignoring the crying are the remedy. That's what she says, but doing it is freaking hard! I know you probably know all of that and are doing it 'cause your an awesome mom!
So here's to another late stressful evening! **Cheers**
as for me I'll be up every three hours during the night...and verbally abuse Tres during the day because of it, Fun times! see ya later today since it's already midnight!
It is a phase, but a VERY long one. The best thing you can do is ignore her crying, so you are doing a good job. We gave into my oldest A LOT and now bed time is a nightmare, but slowly getting better. So we let nothing fly with our 2nd.
But I think for sure letting them cry it out is the best, eventually she will know you are not coming in and she needs to sleep. It will happen, just practice lots of patients, and invest in a good pair of ear plugs!
best wishes on getting thru this! the good thing is that they experts say they wont remember this, so be a good mom and stay out! she will thank you later!
thank you all SO much! :) i need the extra push of encouragement once in a while! :)thank you thank you THANK YOU!
if it makes you feel better, mindy is going thru this right now with ella (she is about 2 and a half).
I'm still afraid of the dark....
