This is a LONG and mushy post about Jake and my "Journey"
Let me take you on a little journey. (ok not little...it's long so I will cut details, but not..)
Timeline:
Sometime in 1997...I was in fees fiddlers. I played the string bass. Deborah Butler, one of my best friends played the Violin. When we would have concerts I would always need a truck or a driver with a large car to take me and my string bass...Deborah's family had a huge van :) The FIRST time I ever met Jake, I went inside Deborah's house so we could leave to our fiddlin concert. Jake lived there too. Deborah said "Jake this is my friend Holly" Jake says "Hey" I say "Hey" (I know intense right?)
Ok So that was the FIRST time we MET/talked. But once Jake's dad had moved into our ward, Jake was pretty young, and living with his mom in Tucson. But every other weekend he would visit his dad and come to church. So we aren't sure on when exactly we first "saw" each other..but we're pretty sure it was at a young age.
March 1999 Jake is in "Grease" with Tyler...Jake comes over to hitch a ride with Tyler to a dance studio in Phoenix....(yes im in 8th grade, and boy is Jake SEXXXXY!)

August 1999 I start High School. Me: Freshman Jake: Junior
We become friends because of seminary, and walk to our last class together EVERYDAY. Mine was dance in the gym and his was weight lifting :) (hemmmm)
Jan 2000-March2000 Spring Musical. Spend 3 months together...rehearsing
Also every Thursday night he drives Deborah and I to the dance studio (same one Tyler drove him too....) drives 100mph on the freeway in his grandma's lil white car..haha.
April 2000 Easter pageant seminary party. Drives Deborah, Lindsey and I to Bro. bakers
house in his truck. I sit next to him. Per Jake's request :) Jan-March2001 Another musical together, Jake's senior year. jake has a girlfriend (sigh)
ok...fast FORWARD...
May 2001, jake graduates High School. Yay him!...Jake goes to Germany to visit brother....and him and girlfriend breakup..(crappy, but yeah for me?)
June 29th 2001 (YES I have a freakishly good memory from this point on)..
Jake calls ME! "wanna come over and go swimming?" me.."*@%&*%^$(*@&# YES!!!!!!!!!!!!"
June 30th, 2001 Repeat June 29th.... :)
July 10th, 2001 1st kiss
Then pretty much every day that summer Jake and I spent hanging out watching movies at his grandmas, working, hanging with his friends, him driving me to payson to see my family while they were camping....
August 2001: I start my Junior year of High School.
AUGUST 20th, 2001 MY 16th BIRTHDAY :) It's official I can date..(i know not like we weren't already) BUT now I could "date" So jake takes me on my first "official" date. Comes over, my dads cleaning his guns, the whole bit. We eat sushi...which i LOVE now, hated then. Brings me a big chocolate cake with candles. Fantastic.
September 2001.. I go to England, September 11th happens while we are overseas, Im freaking out (as the rest of the country) Jake and I email each other for reassurance...kinda crazy time for us. (my family) not knowing when/how we would fly back to the U.S.A
We are the first international flight let back into the U.S and arrive in Phoenix about 9 hours later than scheduled. Lots of family at our house to welcome Tyler back home from his mission. and jake is there, at my house, waiting for me, and conversing with my WHOLE family. (THEY ALL FALL FOR HIM ) :)
September 28, 2001 jake tells me he LOVES ME. (hemmmm) Ill spare you the details
Skip forward a few months....
December 2001 jake gives me a promise ring, asks me to wait for him while he's on his mission.
December 2001-Jan 2002 Jake goes to Hannagan meadow to work with my parents while saving money and preparing for his mission. (plans change)
Jan 2001 jake is told to break up with me to go on a mission. He does :(
(our "breakup"lasts about 2 weeks)
April 2002 JAKE RECEIVES HIS MISSION CALL. HAWAII! and im at work :(
he comes to my work to see ME after :)
June 15th. I'm leaving on a planned trip to HAWAII with my bestie Mandi...4 days before Jake leaves to enter the MTC. OUR LAST DAY TOGETHER FOR 2YEARS!
June 15th 2002-June 25th 2004 JAKE IS ON HIS MISSION
BUT July 10th, 2002 (if you recall July 10, 2001 was our first Kiss, so we consider that our "Anniversary" )July 10th was the day jake left the MTC and flew to Honolulu Hawaii, it was also the day I had my senior portraits done. jake called me from the airport that morning t0 tell me he loved me and Happy 1 year anniversary! :)
June 25th, 2004 At the airport to see him come home! (I was a wreck)
side note:
6 months before Jake came home from his mission he asked me to no longer write him (he dear janes me) I had a boyfriend...BLEH. LONNNNNNNNNNG pointless story. Pointless boyfriend..you get it. I no longer had a boyfriend when Jake walked off the plane though. i ALWAYS LOVED JAKE. (just so that is clear) no judgment people!
June 25th 2004 around 11:00pmish...Im getting off work...Jake calls me AT work to ask if he can walk me to my car (he always did this when we were dating because I worked at Ghetto AZ mills Mall and walked across a creepy parking lot late at night)
So he comes and walks me to my car, and asks for a hug. While hugging he says in my ear "I LOVE YOU" my reply is "I LOVE YOU TOO"
Things didn't play out at first like we'd both thought....2 years away can make things pretty awkward...we stayed BEST friends, and talked almost EVERY day. He still walked me to my car from work, hung out at my apartment ECT. We didn't get back "together" until.... September 19, 2004 I kissed him and said "So you my boyfriend or what?" To his reply "of course When wasn't I?" hehehe
October 19, 2004 Jake ASKS ME TO MARRY HIM!!!!
April 1st, 2005 WE GET MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!!
and now...5 years later.... More in Love than ever, with 2 of the MOST gorgeous KIDS EVER! I can't imagine life without Jake. In July this year marks 9 years of us being "together" A decade has gone by SO quickly. but I AM so glad, and SO blessed that I made the choice to be worthily sealed to my sweetie!

It's a love hate thing. He is a BUSY BODY. cannot sit down, always moving, always working. I love it about him, but sometimes I just want him to sit and be lazy with me! he is the hardest worker i know.

loved your post. I totally understand your love/hate thing with him being a busy body! Sean is exactly the same way! It is cute that he takes care of the kids when he gets home and lets you sleep, Sean does that too!
