Saying Goodbye

Marylou Wilhelm, (MIMU as everyone knew her) Passed away peacefully Sunday night July 25th 2010.

She was diagnosed with acute leukemia in June 2010, and it was just too much for her body to handle. She got pneumonia and was taken to the hospital on Wednesday July 21st The infection was too much for her body to fight, but she put up a good one. We all surrounded her bedside for 5 days leading to her passing. She must have wanted to pass while we were away, because on Sunday night Jake, his brother and fiance Liz, step sister Rachel, step dad Ron and I stepped out of the room for only 15 minutes (leaving Jake's mom Paula with her) it was then she took her last breath. We know she is in a better place, but saying goodbye, and being with her until the end was not easy. Mimu was a huge part of Jake and my life,our relationship and wedding. Mimu is a big reason why Jake and I got married. She pushed me to tell Jake I still loved him, and did the same to Jake. She paid for my wedding dress, and was always so loving, giving and a grandma to anyone and everyone who met her. She will be missed, and I am so sad my children won't get to know her sweet spirit here on earth. I'm happy to know I will see her again, and the wonderful reunion that must be happening in heaven right now with the people she loves who died before her. Til we meet again Mimu, I love you, and thank you for everything.
