In & Outa Shape

LilySlim Weight loss tickers

So, seeing that after having 3 children my body is no longer what it used to be, I figured it was time for a change. All you moms out there can back me up on this one. It has taken a toll on my emotions not being in "control" of the way I look for the last 5 years, but I am happy to say I have taken the control BACK!

Signing up for the Tinkerbell half marathon in January 2012 has been a HUGE motivator for me. You would think being 25 lbs heavier than I want would be enough, but it really isn't, especially when self esteem is OUT the window. Luckily though, I had bought a gym membership prior to becoming preggy with Kaitlyn, It had to be put on hold while I was pregnant due to my complications, but having the "contract" has made me realize the investment I have put financially into, needs to be also invested physically. I have gone everyday to the gym (except Sundays) and done at least a 30 min workout, and have done this for 3 straight weeks now! Jake and I also bought a elliptical/bike for our home, because Jake works 24 hour shift at work, so there is no way for me to get to the gym when he is gone. (so I guess I kinda fibbed...I don't go to the gym when Jake is at work, but I DO work out at home)

My new love is ZUMBA! and Yoga, which is a old love. I do classes, swim, LOTS of ab exercises, and of course RUN.

I've started the Couch 2 5k training plan, because training for a half marathon involves being bale to run at least 3 miles to begin training! Which I can't do! So the couch 2 5k is perfect. It gets you to the 5K, in 10 weeks, and then the half is a 12 week training program. I'm in week 4 of the couch 2 5k, because I skipped the first week (i could run a little) :)

NO EXCUSES... I WILL lose 25lbs by December, (if not earlier) AND I will be able to run the half marathon at a 10 min mile pace in January!

These are my new goals!

Here are the OLD excuses why I never got serious before. I will write them down, so I can no longer make them when days get hard.

1. No time (BOO, do some sit ups, run in place, do a few crunches at home if you can't go to a gym. Everyone has 10 mins to themselves at home, even me! with 3 kids!)

2. No money (see above...it is NOT necessary to have a gym membership)

3. Shin splints...this did worry me a bit, but with some research on shoes, and preventative measures I am SO far so GOOD! thank you minimalist shoes by Merrell. >>>link here

4. Why workout, I'm just going to have more kids...nope we're done NOW

5. I look stupid when I workout...really? I was so vain.

There are a million more excuses I could come up with, but not anymore. I'm ready to live a happier and healthier life. and weigh a bit less too :)

Congrats, and good luck. I have been running for two and a half years now and it is to a point when I don't run I miss it.

I'm impressed Holly! I wish I had your motivation. I'll do really good workouts for 3 days in a row and then I get bored... Or start making all the excuses.

You're strong and beautiful.
You can do it! Love you!

You can totally lose 25 by December! after I had my 3rd baby I lost 50 lbs in 8 months! And it feels so good. And really, once you start working out regularly you MISS it when you don't. I am so sad that I can't work out to the extent I was doing before I had Roxy. (all my health issues are STILL there and I hate it :(

but Good luck. the marathon should be so fun!

Holly.... good for you! Way to motivate yourself! They say that if you do something for at least 6 weeks it becomes a habit! And a good one to boot! Good Luck... maybe I will get myself better motivated!
Hugs.... Aunt Jean :)
